The Racketeer

“I hosted my husband’s 30th birthday party in the back room of the Racketeer and could honestly not have asked for a nicer venue or better service. The space was referred to as “semi private” but it felt completely private, with a great indoor and outdoor space perfect for 20-30 people in good weather. The Racketeer team were really friendly and accommodating, always checking in to ensure we had everything we needed, and even allowing us to bring in a cake and some light birthday decor for the room. The bar itself has a fantastic vibe, super relaxed and comfortable with nice background music, reasonable prices for London, and great cocktails. Only thing to note is that the nibbles available are a bit limited (especially if you have vegetarians/vegans in the group) but it’s still perfect for an evening of drinks. Special thanks to Marco for helping to organise the evening, Ty for showing us around the place ahead of our event day, and William and the entire team for the great service all evening.”

“This is the best bar anywhere around Kings X and beyond. Amazing cocktails, lovely snug vibe, cool old furnishings. Staff are pretty hip too. And an adorable courtyard. And corn nuts, yes.”

“Just had a lovely couple of hours here with friends. We stumbled upon it after a meal at a nearby restaurant. We were greeted at the door by the owner and made very welcome. The look is one of a Victorian pub with plenty of tiles and mirrors of the period. As a cocktail bar there is ample on the menu to satisfy your needs but there are also very good beers and ciders should that be your preference. Table service with a tab is the norm here but splitting the bill is no problem. On a January evening the atmosphere was lovely with much of the lighting coming from candle light. Ideal for a romantic evening for two. The service from the staff was very attentive with just a glance needed to get their attention to order the next round. The prices of the drinks were as expected for London but competitive with the local competition. We did not notice premium prices for this bar. If you are staying at any of the local hotels this has to be a better option than their bars. We are already looking forward to visiting next time we are in the area. Update 5 Feb 25: After another visit I'm adding an extra star. Made very welcome again and looking forward to the next visit.”

“This is a fantastic venue, it's got character & atmosphere. The drinks were expertly mixed, prices were standard for London, around £12-£15 for a cocktail. The host, Tye, was incredibly attentive & made the evening extra special.”
